Listen to Stephen discuss hypnotherapy on the Mary Russell Radio Show

On October 28th 1977 I was hit by a car while out on my motorcycle. Although I was only sixteen at the time I must say that was a defining moment in my life. I was thrown thirty-eight feet on to the middle of the road. I remember hearing the shrieks of terror from the people who were gathering around me. I felt very calm and thought to myself, "shouldn't I be the one who's doing the screaming?" At that moment I noticed they were looking at my leg. I glanced down and could see I was hit so hard that my leg bone it ripped a hole through my jeans. It wasn't long after I saw the pool of blood getting larger and larger around me that I lost consciousness. My next memory was being rattled awake to what felt like someone pounding on my chest. I looked up to see a paramedic looming over me holding a paddle in each hand. I smiled at him, then again everything faded to white. The next thing I remember was in the ambulance and again waking up to a man wielding those paddles that kicked like a mule. When I got to the hospital as I was being wheeled in I saw my parents. They must have beaten the ambulance to the hospital. I told them not to worry it was just a broken leg. When I woke up in the recovery room it was dark. I could see and hear my heartbeat on the monitor. The next thing I know I was throwing up which of course set off all sorts of alarms causing the hospital staff to come running. After things calmed down the biggest pain I felt was that my chest was really sore and there were circular red marks up and down my side. I thought no more about it.

A few days later a paramedic was walking past my room. Our eyes met for a second and I could hear his footsteps continue down the hall for maybe another ten steps, and then suddenly he stopped. There was no sound for what seemed to be a long while. Then he came into my room with a look on his face as if he had seen a ghost. He said, "I can't believe you made it! They told me you died on the operating table so I went home thinking... well I guess they were wrong. You know we worked a long time on you in the road, then again in the ambulance. You died three times!" We talked a little bit about me surviving for a reason, but at the time the things the guy said to me went in one ear and out the other. Being shot up with Demerol every four hours for two months probably didn't help either. I spent two months hospitalized in traction and the next five years in a cast. That's right, FIVE years.

It's a pretty common occurrence that when someone almost dies or thinks they're going to die their life, "passes before their eyes." Perhaps you've experienced this as well. It happened to me the first time seven years before my motorcycle accident in 1970 when my mother crashed the car. She lost control at around 75 mph and the car rolled down an embankment. Miraculously, my father insisted that I buckle up just fifteen minutes before the crash. He didn't take his own advice and was ejected through the convertible roof. We all walked away from that crash with only minor injuries but the experience allowed me to see every detail of my life up to that point like a slideshow in reverse chronological order. This of course happened in a split second. In many ways that accident was a blessing in that it prepared me for what was to come.

In 1995 I became a certified hypnotherapist. My motives included the desire to heal people relatively quickly. Hypnotherapy was definitely the right choice.  I also needed a way to manage the chronic pain I suffered from the accident. When it comes to chronic pain, drugs just don't cut it. My final and prevailing motive was to learn methods to jog my memory of these near death experiences. I felt I received a Universe full of information in what felt like a just few minutes. I needed a way to decompress all the mental files that were just sitting on the tip of my tongue, so to speak.

Before I get into detail about the Experience, let me explain the way things work here in human form versus, "there." Remember in school we were taught that are eyes were wired to our brains by optic nerves. The neuro-pathways send information to our brain where information from our various senses are processed. This process makes for perception. What science hasn't yet definitively proven is that there are also wireless connections that our brain can access as well. These "wireless connections" may have been demonstrated in recent studies involving soybean plants. Scientists are now trying to figure out how the mutated DNA of the soy plant can reset itself back to normal when it's DNA was altered many generations prior. The corrected information is being stored somewhere. We just don't know where or how it's being stored. Yet! That soy plant study affirmed what all my Near Death memories were telling me.

As I began the process of crossing over it felt as if the plugs were being pulled on my senses. The first that seemed to go was my vision. I remember everything fading to white. A very vivid white. This was very different than what I remember passing out was like. For a split second I felt very frightened. I knew something was going terribly wrong but knew deep down I had had no choice but to let go. Have you ever had to jump off a very high place for the first time. It's a similar feeling. Thrill seeking behavior is practice to overcome this uneasy feeling so as to make passing over more comfortable. One thing I realized was that I had been training my entire life for this moment. You see, once you overcome uneasy feelings, there is little stopping you from passing over. I like that the word "pass" is used. Would you like a nice easy pass to Everywhere and Everything, AS WELL AS nowhere and nothing? Keep practicing.

An important lesson learned for those who wish to cross over smoothly: Practice the act of instantly letting go of as many things as you can. Let go of the concept of having material "things." Let go of having your way. Let go of the feeling of fear. This will serve you well when the time comes.

The instant I let go, the world as knew it instantly lost it's attraction. That's the best way to put it into words. The past, the future, the memories, everything I held dear and took so seriously very quickly began to dissolve away. The world was fast becoming non-attractive, then neutral, then meaningless. It's beyond description what a RELIEF it was to no longer be burdened with trying to figure it all out. No longer to be hungry, horny (remember I was 16), and tired. Boy does that body cry out for everything. Now the body was silent. Silent but still beside me. I thought, how beautiful Sight is without eyes.

As my hearing began loosing it's connection to the brain and switched over to a wireless mode I heard a sound so hauntingly beautiful, even decades later the mere thought of it bring tears to my eyes. On Earth we enjoy all sorts of music, yet sound without ears to hear delivers what can only be described as the mythological Song of the Siren. I find it significant that Homer should make the Sirens appeal to the spirit, rather than to the flesh. The Sound is a sound heard within every sound you ever heard, but because the brain is simultaneously synthesizing it's own version of the Sound, the Sound that makes up the sound is drowned out by the artificial version. The moment you hear this Sound you are healed, for this Sound is the root of life itself.  I'll return to the topic of True Sound at a later time. Suffice it to say, within True Sound all the that ever existed and ever will exist is encapsulated within the Idea of sound. Meditate on this. It's helps for a smooth transition.

If you happen to find yourself in love make sure to listen for the Sound. Listen carefully because it may only play for a split second but when it does burn it deep into your consciousness. This is Voice that will be guiding you.

THE EFFICIENT LIFE: In the not so distant future living efficiently will become more and more important. As computers are able to achieve practical artificial intelligence there will be a shift from a monetary system to a system of efficiency credits and debits. How efficiently you live your life will determine how well you live and how much free time you have. For example if you are good at planning for the future you can collect a substantial amount of credits. As a very simple example let's say you know you need to go to the grocery store once a week. If everyone can file a plan, similar to the flight plan airline pilots file, with the computer letting it know where you need to go and what you need to do, the system will be better able to route traffic more efficiently. This saves time and resources. Further if the system knows well in advance what you plan to eat and when you plan to eat it, those needs can be tailored to the similar needs of others. These days farmers have to hope and pray what they grow will get sold. Every day produce is not sold more and more goes rotten in the train cars. Imagine the savings if food were produced on demand.

People will basically be reporting the most intimate details of their life to a main computer system so they can better their lives. There will also come a time when computers are integrated in every aspect of our lives. Including into our brains so we can communicate more efficiently with each other as well as with the main computer matrix. This will be relatively short lived because we will learn so quickly and efficiently how to live under this technology, the usefulness for this technology will come to an end. Just as beings as simple as a colony of ants know how to communicate and live in harmony without the use of technology, so will the human race. All that will persist is a computer driven system that keeps track of how efficiently each individual leads their life and makes global adjustments based on those requirements.

I want you to understand that the example about food I used is just an example. That's not how nutrition will be used. Eating will be separated from the body's need for nutrition. Eating will be for pleasure rather than necessity. The way the body processes food into nutrition is very inefficient. Just as it's very inefficient to have a baby just so one can enjoy the pleasures of sex, so it is with food. A rudimentary solution has been created for sex in the form of birth control. So it will be for food. Nutrients will be delivered to exactly where the body needs it by artificial delivery systems. Nanotechnology is already progressing at a furious pace in the medical industry and will find it's way into every organ of our bodies. Our bodies will also be genetically engineered to more efficiently use nutrients while our gastrointestinal tracts will be deemphasized.

Since I mentioned sex, I should at this point briefly mention that the size and function of sex organs will be also be minimized. Darn! The thing is, the same level of stimulation can be achieved though rubbing vestigial organs as through penetration of highly specialized and complex organs. The percentage of energy used by your digestive organs and sexual organs is huge. In this day in age it might be hard to believe people will be will ask to have their children born with tiny sex organs but it will happen. A mans penis will be the size of a clitoris and a woman's reproductive system will be virtually nonexistent. Many people will initially resist having their baby in a test tube as well, but the financial and social incentives of having children in more efficient ways will become irresistible. People won't be forced to do this since force is very inefficient, yet they will see that doing things this way is beyond a doubt in their own best interest.

This is a called a "Magic Eye Stereogram. If you stare at this image, relax and defocus your eyes the photo will "magically" appear to transform into a high-definition 3D image. When I discovered the Magic Eye website I likened these images to the Near Death Experience. The 2D picture is the way I see now. Once I, "left my body" my vision was transformed to a higher definition version of the world I was accustomed to my entire life. It seens to me that seeing without eyes will yield the highest definition of experience. Right now we see in what scientists say is 3D "reality." Well, if this 3D low definition world I see now is reality, what was that High-Definition 4D world I was immersed in?
